For anyone interested in the story of Donald Crowhurst and his fateful voyage in the Golden Globe round the world sailing challenge of 1968, this is a must see.

With circumstances conspiring to force him into rash decisions and, ultimately the final confrontation with his truth, this detailed and sometimes heart wrenching documentary shows interviews with some of his family, protagonists in the quest as well as original film and audio footage of Mr Crowhurst before and during his perilous journey into the South Atlantic and beyond.

A couple of years ago I visited Rio Salado in Argentina and spoke with some of the prefectura coast guard and indeed one of the officers who met the man is still around.

This is one of those documentaries that will pull you in and remain with you for much longer than its duration, such is its impact.
